§ What is included
in the rate of the room?
Guests receive welcome treats (coffee, tea, Swiss Hot Chocolate, and goodies)
upon their arrival, a lovely comfortable bed to rest through the night, complimentary
water and Swiss chocolates in room, and a delicious home cooked breakfast
each morning.
§ How do we get to
the River’s Inn?
--If coming from
the north (Alamosa) – make a right turn at the Drugstore (after passing the
two restaurants, Dos Hermanas and The Dutch Mill). The Inn will be on the next corner.
--If coming from the south (Espanola-Taos on Hwy 285) – turn left
directly after the convenience store (Diamond Shamrock,) turn right on River Street and you will see the Inn on the corner.
§ Are pets allowed
at the River’s Inn?
Depending on the size of the pet – yes, pets may be allowed for a small
charge. Please inquire with the
Innkeeper when making your reservation.
§ Could we leave our
pet at the Inn while we spend the day at the Great Sand Dunes?
Only upon request
– please inquire with the Innkeeper before arrival.
§ Is smoking
allowed?
Smoking is only allowed on the front porch of the Inn – we kindly ask you to refrain
from smoking inside.
§ Are children
allowed?
Yes. If more than double occupancy,
there is an additional charge. And we
kindly ask your assistance in ensuring children do not touch things that may
be breakable.
§ Can more than two
people stay in one room?
Yes, more than two people may be in a room – although there is an additional
charge per person. We do have a
roll-away bed that can be put in your room (not available for the Bodmer
Room.)
§ I have a special
diet – can I ask for accommodations in my meal?
Yes. Please notify the Innkeeper at
the time of inquiry/reservation about any dietary restrictions or requests.
§ We have tickets to
ride the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic
Railroad – that leaves at 8:30 a.m.
Is there time to have breakfast before making the train?
Yes. There is time for breakfast
before you leave for your train trip.
The Innkeeper can accommodate guests at a time they prefer, usually at
7:00 a.m. Please make an
inquiry at the time of reservation or upon arrival at the Inn.
§ My large family is
spending their vacation in Southern Colorado.
Would it be possible to rent all rooms for one or two nights?
Yes. If rooms are available – all rooms can be
reserved by the same family.

I am coming in on the train from Chama, New Mexico and will not be taking the
bus/train back until the next morning.
Could I be picked up at the train station and taken back the following
morning?
Yes. We would be happy to pick you up and drop
you off.
§
My wife and I will be spending the weekend in the area for
our anniversary, riding the train the next day – could I ask that you prepare
a special treat upon our arrival or after dinner?
Absolutely! We would love to help you celebrate your
special occasion.

What are check in times?
I am driving in from Denver after work and will not be getting
to Antonito until late, is it possible to have a late check-in?
Check-in times are
between 4:00-6:00 p.m. Yes, late
check in is possible. Please notify
the Innkeeper at the time of your reservation if you will be arriving after 6:00
p.m..

My husband and I will be fishing in the Rio
Grande National Forest during the day.
Do you have a place for us to store our catch until we leave?
Yes, we can
accommodate a moderate amount of fish and would even cook it for you for
dinner.

Do the rooms at the River’s Inn have locks on the doors and are
the keys given to the guest?
Yes. Each room at the River’s Inn locks and guests may request a key
when they check in.

Are there places to have dinner near the River’s Inn?
There are two very
good restaurants within a 3 minute walk from the Inn.
Prices and menus at each are comparable. In addition, for a charge we would be happy
to prepare a dinner for you.

What is there to do around a stay at the River’s Inn?
There are many
places to visit and things to do around your stay at the River’s Inn.

I will be taking the train to Chama, New Mexico, staying the night there, and
return by train the next day. Could I
leave my vehicle at the Inn instead of at that train station?
If we are not
expecting a full house, yes, your vehicle could remain at the Inn.
§ My church group
will be planning a retreat. Do you
have an area where our group could meet?
We would be
happy to have your group stay at our Inn.
Most guests depart before 9:30, so your group could meet in the
living room or in the dining room. For
a small additional charge, refreshments could be provided throughout the day.
Upon request, we could also provide lunch for groups up to 10 people.
§ What have people
commented about the River’s Inn?
Many guests have written in our guest book and have left wonderful comments. In addition, there was an article written in the
Colorado Independent – Daytripper section in September 2007.

What other services does the River’s Inn provide?
--The Innkeeper is
also a medium and does readings
(automatic writing). Make sure you book time in advance.
--We have a wonderful massage therapist who does wonders. Appointments
will have to be booked well in advance.
--We could also prepare a nice home cooked dinner (additional charge)
for you at the Inn.
--We give tours of our historical inn; provide coffee, tea,
refreshments.
